For over 25 years, Spurt has been a commercial compost processing facility dedicated to producing STA Certified Compost and soil amendments for landscapers, farmers, organic growers, other contractors and homeowners.

 

Spurt’s mission is to find alternative uses for organic waste products, reducing the need for landfill space and creating healthy gardens and landscapes all over Metro Detroit, while preserving and renewing the environment. The result is a broad product line of nutrient-rich soils for superior plant growth.

Our soils are completely natural, made from recycled materials (yard waste, clean wood and food scraps) and designed to enhance and maintain plant and soil conditions, with precise formulas created especially for specific uses, such as:

While we love to have our customers pick up soils at our facility, we also deliver to your home, yard  or job site. We can deliver 3 yards or a gravel train, depending on your needs.

Once you get into the Resource Recovery Complex, follow signs for SPURT, drive past the Wastewater Treatment Plant
and behind the Department of Public Works (DPW), you’ll find our site.
